SECOND SUNDAY HIKERS

LEADERSHIP: Karen Davis, Bob Hawley

NEWS

Bob Hawley led us through the red maple swamp at the Fairchild Wildflower Garden in Greenwich. We

were at a disadvantage because Don Currie didn't share his Fairchild booklet with us—that is a joke,

because Don has given us much hike information through the years.

Virginia Streitfeld (retired) and Amelia Berlinski (6 months) made this a celebrity hike. Virginia was accompanied by her enthusiastic daughter Vicki, and Amelia was carried by her parents Mike and Jillian. Some wildflowers were spotted, but Virginia and Amelia were the most beautiful blooms in the group. Janet Cory (Janet Shaw will be joining us soon), Debbie, and Leslie admired the skunk cabbage and the fiddle head ferns.

Karen was still floating on air after the delicious, colorful retirement social hour. If you were sorry to miss

this hike, please contact Karen.

Next hike: May 9 (Mother's Day), Sherwood Island.

Thanks everybody, and enjoy the remarkable, sunny days!
